Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Christmas times a coming!

Josh and I had a great visit with Mom this afternoon, and were welcomed by the scent of freshly baked buttery Christmas cookies, and a festively decorated apartment. It was so nice to sit there, listening to carols in the background, having tea and chatting. Josh and I ohhed and ahhed all the way back to Manchester looking at lights and listening to Ft. Wayne's all Christmas music station. To top it off, Jim had decorated our pine out front with old fashioned colored lights, making the welcome home even better.

Your visit to Grandma's sounds wonderful! It made me wish that I could do the same, but I suppose that we'll have to wait until this summer. I can just picture everything from your description, right down to the smell of the cookies and the tea. James Taylor says "in my mind, I'm going to Carolina", with your post it was more like "in my mind, I'm going to Grandma's..."
