The last time I took off with a girlfriend on a short roadtrip, I was probably twenty years old!
That will be rectified tomorrow, as my pal Melody and I take off for the far eastern corner of Kentucky. We're going to Greenbo State Park which has a large lake, trails, and an outside ampitheatre that has outside plays. We hope to arrive in time Sunday evening for the last performance of "The Odd Couple". Melody used to go there with her parents, and it's been thirty years since her last visit. So...we're going to relive some memories for her, and make some new ones! Tiny towns near by have antique shops so I hope they'll be open for business come Monday.
We'll only be gone 3-4 days. Jim will be home to babysit the three dogs as his Mom takes the South Shore out of South Bend to visit her brother in Chicago.
Here are some photos of where we'll be. Girls rule! The GPS (Helga) is going along, and Jim made us a map. Neither one of us has any sense of direction, so wish us luck!

Have Fun!!! I have heard them talk about the big fish at the Greenbo Lake but we haven't been there yet. I think my husband may have been there years ago?
Sounds like a fun trip in store for you and your friend. When you get back, email me your snail mail addy so I can send you that travel tag that you admired!
Have a wonderful time. Did a road trip with my friend Nancy last month and thought of ourselves as Thelma and Louise. No disasters and lots of fun. The GPS definitely came with us.
Wow, I should join you girls. I get turned around in our mall!
Tell us about it when you get back - looks like fun, to me - who has not had a vacation in many many years!
Sounds like a blast! I know you 2 will have fun antique shopping...all those lost treasures waiting to be found. Can't wait to see the pics and hear the details when you get back.
Take Care - Robin

Looks like a beautiful place to stay - relax and talk.

Hope you have tons of fun and if y'all take a wrong turn and head south, just come on down to Mississippi and we can go junkin' here. LOL...Hope you really really have a good girls trip.
