Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Poopie, doopie, doo...

We all have our own idea of heaven. Not particularly what heaven is like once our journey on earth is over...but our dreamy idea of what we think heavenly delight is here on earth. I do believe...other than being surrounded by grandchildren that don't live 700 miles away...this, would be mine. Ahhh, surrounded by corgis...... I cannot believe that lil' Emmy Lulu is old enough to be getting her kindergarten photo taken. School pictures have come a l-o-n-g way since my day back in 1957, and my kid's pics in '80-'81.
Living so far from the grands, and then seeing this photo, I realize just how much we have missed of their lives. It burns my butt. We get one go round, and I'm not happy missing out on so much. Granted, living closer could make the "big kids" uncomfortable...but, a nearby town...close enough to babysit, share holidays, being able to see them more than once or twice a year would be delightful. When we were rv'ing, we were able to see more of the kids, and be housed in a campground nearby. We could do our thing, and visit, and then go away. Perfect for everyone. We hope, and pray we'll be able to do that again, now that we're on the wrong side of 60. Retirement can't come fast enough. Will it ever happen? Sigh, we're wondering. Surely there is a money tree we can shake to make this happen. Why the heck do we have to be old and gray and bent and spent before we can retire and live, live, live? The last of my hormones must be kickin' in. It ain't pretty is it? Grrr, hear me roar!??

Y'all come back now...

Y'all come back now...

Everyone is special, and counts!
