Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Witchy Behavior...

Some days it's easy to be like the good witch. Things are rosy, the sun is shining, and you feel a song in your heart. However...not every day goes that well as you all know. Moods come and go, spirits rise and soar or go kerplunk and wallow in the mire of despair.
In other words...we all have our "poopy" days. That's normal and natural. I'm not going to apologize for having a black mood day, are you? Unless it's a daily occurrence that offends most everyone in your circle, or zings them and leaves them bleeding...we'll ALL get over, and survive, a bad day.
Women in their fifties tend to be more prone to this. Call me crazy but with the herd of aging boomers out there, I'm thinkin' that right now, there are more of us, than them. There's a whole population of cranky, disjointed, forgetful women out there on the loose....scaring the masses. So be it. Some body's got to do it. It may as well be us.
It's the month of Halloween anyway...we just have our witch on, daily....rather than just one night. But...in our defense, we don't get any candy either. Unless, we are smart, and buy it for ourselves!

This has been a public service message for folks, not in the throes of menopause. We are out there, beware! Caffeine in any form will be appreciated. Amen!

What I ♥ about my age is the fact that I just don't sweat the small stuff anymore. I say what I want and don't worry so much about being a "good girl" any longer. It feel so free and easy. Of course, I don't set out to hurt folks but I do have my say☺

Yes, I spoil my dogs and cats, too. The kids are grown, in good marriages, producing grandkids for me, so what else do I have to do other than just adore my house-mates!

Oh, I'm so not looking forward to menopause. I'm still in the PMS stage of the game. Don't throw the ball to me right now because I don't want to catch it! hehehe

Hugs,
Angela

LOL...was just thinkin the other day (when I saw a pic of a witch)...hmmm, thinning hair, wart with hair in it, dry skin...she must be menopausal! LOL. Ain't it the truth though? And yeah, I've pretty much reached the age of, "I don't give a crap what they think if I say what I want". LOL. Great post.

Me included! Gosh, I went through menopause way back in my early 30's...and I think I'm STILL not done...watch out everyone, I'm flabby-armed and dangerous!!!

Okay - I read the book Wicked. Okay it was make believe, but it was about the witch and Glenda the good witch before Oz. And it made perfect sense. The bad witch was really bad at all. It was a perception.

That is what I think some times happen to us.

We just get frustrated and confused and misunderstood.

Very enjoyable read this morning! I'm fortunate - no menopause symptoms - never had much PMS. Don't need no hormones either, thank goodness. Must be fortunate that I have the genes that I do - mom never had those problems either, so that's what I attribute my luck to! I still have sympathy for those that do have the troubles, AND their SPOUSES! Take care - have a great day!

Menopause is long gone, and there are some cranky days. I think I -- yes, even sweet little Buttercup -- have a cranky gene.

My mother always called menopause "life on the other side," and had a generally favorable attitude about it. She went through it early, and I did, too. At age 46, I was suddenly fearful that I might be pregnant and I kept buying home pregnancy tests (seriously), which kept coming up false, and when my depression started, I suddenly realized it might be menopause. It is amazing what drugs can do for you. I hear people constantly saying that you shouldn't take them, but for me, it was the answer. I was so depressed, I didn't think I would ever be myself again. So, I will take quality life, thank you very much. The good news, for my mother and me, is that the monthly migraines ceased. I always had one on the second day of my cycle and usually missed work on that day. Now, my migraines are few and far between. I like who I am and am happy with my life. My children are doing well, I love my cat and corgi and have a man that treats me well. It could be a lot worse.
Hugs to you and all the rest of my fellow "witches," Cheryl in IN

I took hormones for menopause when I turned 50. When "they" decided it wasn't a good idea anymore, my Dr took me off of them. I have been having hot flashes ever since!
It just ain't fair!

I love the new layout!

I have my poop days--maybe too many of them. But it is what it is. I just try my darndest to not rip anyone's head off at work or while I'm driving. Got to love road rage--I can't wait for the day when I don't sweat the small stuff anymore.

Y'all come back now...
