Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Do you wish you could light up your butt?

The lightning bugs have arrived. Even THEY are early this year!
Childhood wonderment over these little bugs has been going on for eons. Nothing is more peaceful than sitting around a campfire, and seeing a field lit up with the yellowish glow of the fireflies...or do you call them lightning bugs?
It depends, I suppose, where you hail from.
Here's a dang interesting site all about Lightning bugs; explaining just how they get their hineys to glow!

On a sadder note...the mosquitoes have also arrived, buzzing and biting.
Dad burn things!

Hey Corgidogmama!

Our lightening bugs came pretty early this year too! They have been here for some time now! Did you know that you can buy a container that is plastic and looks like a light bulb for $10 at the store! lol I say make your own! I hate the skeeters too!

Hugs,
Angela

Good heavens, I thought you said LIGHTEN up your butt and rushed over here to find out how.

I love lighning bugs. None here, of course...*sigh*...very few mosquitos, though, that's the good thing.

If I lit up my butt I think half of New York City would be able to read at night. Certainly would save energy. Thanks for the funniest blog title of 2010.

Cute title! No fireflies here yet, but plenty of skeeters! And plenty of bull frogs to eat the skeeters! I found a fake lantern for 50 cents at a garage sale last year and gave it to my grandson, to put the fireflies in! It had a screen with plastic top and bottom, and a handle, that looked like a lantern - worked great for him! Very cool!

Yep, I head for the house before the sun hits the horizon, hate, hate, hate biting bugs. I watch fireflies from afar because of that. Why is it when you are a child; stuff like mosquitoes never seemed to bother. Now as a adult(semi, maybe?) they BUG me to death!

Haven't seen any lightning bugs but the mosquitoes are out in full force here. Don't think I'll be lighting up my butt, it would be disastrous! Funny post from a funny lady!

Y'all come back now...
