Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

3~3~3 Thinking in threes....

Hollyhocks...the skyscraper, higher than a cat's back, heady flower that can enhance your domicile by waving its stately blooms on a current of air.

Ok, because I've begun gathering seeds...and because I'm the third and youngest in my childhood family...and Jim's third wife....and if something happens to him,(snicker) I would replace him with a third corgi.....I want to give away three packages of home grown hollyhock seeds.

Leave a comment about some kind of nonsense...such as....using three little words to describe this blog. Flattering or not, I don't care. The two corgi kids will select the winners in three days.
I'll get back to y'all!

What a cool blog entry! So Mum says I have to tell you this story.

When she lived on the Oregon Coast in a teeny little house she planted hollyhocks which she loved. They were all sort of different colors and were on either side of the stairs leading up to the front door of the house (3 stairs). One morning Mum got up and there was a deer standing on the top stair so it could reach over and eat the last hollyhock. All the flowers had been devoured. Mum made noises and hand signs for the deer to "vamoose!" but it ignored Mum and at the last hollyhock and then he left. Mum was slightly frenzied and had a nother cup of coffee (not a good combination) and has never felt the same about deer since then.

Okay, okay, onto your contest. This is worse than a corgi haiku...

Hollyhocks hover heavenward

Colors of halos

Blog of contentment, happiness and gratitude (that's three in corgi counting)

and lastly,

send Mum some seeds or I am hopping a plane and coming to live with you and my atitude will be there even before I arrive! (I include this in case blind threats have any sway with you).

Love, Dozer

Greetings from the wilds of Minnesota! They are all watching the movie--The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Personally, I find it bad and ugly. Just me. Three words--More Manchester Mania!! We frozed our butts off last night--43. Not bad if you have your long johns along. Went fishing--caught one puny bluegill. Too windy. It is August in MN.

I love Hollyhocks!

They're so sweet and old fashioned.
When we were kids, we'd make fairy dolls by using an upside-down full blossom for the skirt and plug a bud into it for the head.

Fun, Friend, Corgis... My Mom used to have Hollyhocks around and they were so pretty. There were some here when we first came here, but I heard they were poisonous to horses, so I haven't planted any since we came.

I think I'll google that because if Dozer's Mom's deer ate the ones she had... I'm to late for the prize, but I just wanted to do my part anyway. :)

Y'all come back now...
