Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Greetings from Possumville...

This little bugger was in our garage....it was dead....but there it was. We're thinking that there is a family of these guys living under our deck. We're thinking that these are the guys who gathered all the corgi fur from the yard to make their beds snug and warm. The dogs always sniff the floor of the deck, and all around the steps when we're outside. To tell the truth, until a few days ago, we thought it was rabbits under there....nope....it's Possumville. Ugh. I'm repeating myself. Ugh.

On a lighter note....just enjoyed another fire outside. We burned a piece of cedar which made the air so fragrant. The leaves are at their peak color, the sky was blue, and the air was crisp enough to want the fire. Sitting in a swing, enjoying the day, dogs getting belly rubs, meatballs in the crock pot simmering away....does it get any better? I think not. A darn nice afternoon. Little gifts come to us in many ways. I told Jim that Halloween came early this week and his gift was in the garage....and I wasn't playing possum, either!

Yikes Corgidogmama! I don't like those things. They can be mean! Be careful with the corgis around them.

You are making me want to have a little bonfire in our back yard. We don't have a fire pit like you have. It sounds great though!

Have a Great Sunday!

I must be more "citified" that I thought, Susan ... here, I saw that picture and was going, "Oh, how sweet!"

Your bonfire and meatballs sound heavenly right now!
I'm praying for temps to drop, but suspect the utility company out here is in cahoots with Mother Nature!

En-JOY yourselves!

You don't have a fire ban up there? We still do! I love a fire in the fall. All we did last night was grill. Doug doesn't want a fire. I could just see the whole place going up in smoke!
Hugs, Cheryl

I've never seen a real possum before - guess they don't live tis far north (Alberta). They sure have wicked looking jaws. Your autumn day sounds heavenly.

Nasty, nasty things they are. We just shot one because once they come in, they do not go away. They also transmit a very serious disease to horses. Yeah, cute little boogers--NOT! The only way you can get rid of them is to call a critter patrol. Living in town, shooting them is not an option nor would poison(the stench, my dear, the stench}. (how are you liking your birthday present? If you were like me, you went through the whole thing then went back and read every page. I loooove that book) I have a new paper project idea for you, with some tweaking. It is sweet.

I hate pests that just come in and invade your life. But, I still am going to celebrate October no matter what... Happy October!

I'm surprised at all the negative comments about possums. I was thrilled when they started showing up on my patio last year. I was feeding them and named all four of them. I was really concerned when they stopped coming and thought they must have died from the cold.
I didn't know they were mean!

Happy belated Birthday, woman!!! And thanks for the cute little card! Did you make it??? I just love it!!! That picture of the critter today just might POSSUMBLY be the creepiest possum pic I've ever seen!!! LOL! I'm in Detroit training this week for that part time job - learning about insurances and billing. SOOOO exciting!

Y'all come back now...
