Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

What's new??

So....on someone's blog I read that every state in America currently has snow, except Florida. What...is everybody doing, while home, surrounded by snow, is what inquiring minds want to know! Want to share?

I've planted some paperwhite bulbs, and they're up to almost four inches. You can see daily growth, and the green is a sight for sore eyes!
I'm currently listening to Patricia Cornwell's newest book on audio. Port Mortuary. I miss her earlier work. (Scarpetta, the main character, has become very guarded and jaded, and I miss the team thinking and amity of the characters in earlier stories.) Life is complex enough, and these days, getting along appeals to me, even in books!

I ordered Red Rose Tea online, and got a sampler box. A nice mix of decaf/Irish/Earl Grey/and the regular (which one can find at Walmart, but not the other types.) The corgis highly approve, as we share a mug of decaf in the evenings. They ARE Welsh, afterall! Even a corgi likes their cuppa!

There's a pile of books...fiction/yoga/what not to eat/and Land's End Sale catalog beside my bed. I've shoveled EIGHT times since Monday. Once at the library! And, readily counted that as exercise on my WW tracker!

The excitement just never stops around here as you can see! SnOrT! Comment, and let me see what you're doing during this silly winter of 2011 to fill these snowy evenings. Until the weather pattern changes, hang in, and hang on!

Hey Corgidogmama!

I can't believe you've shoveled snow that many times! Geez! We live on the flat part of our land and don't shovel the snow ever. Sometimes I will take a broom to the front porch and steps but I haven't done it this year yet! lol

The kids have been occupying their time by playing Wii, talking on the phone with friends and watching some dvd movies they got for Christmas.

I finally sat down and made our yearly calendar today. I think it turned out great! I use the pictures that I took last year to make a calendar for this year.

Hugs,
Angela

What snow, not in our area, I'm fighting boredom, when I'm not to sick to care by playing with my photoshop. My chest feels alot better but still feel pretty bad, really just sleeping most of the time.
Sure will be glad when I can get out and plant my paper whites, if it's not to late..

Hmmmmmm? What am I doing on these wintery nights? Resting after days filled of rocking Jalina Rose,,,and playing tea parties! We love to set our tray with the finest of Fisher Price tea cups and have tea. Perhapswe may have to order some "fancy" tea too...although Walmart and Jewel do carry some wonderful ones!
We have been doing some sewing too...we are keeping most busy here!

You've had your share of snow and more on the way here this weekend so I'm sure it will heading your way also. The last few days have been cloudy, dreary here. I used to be a huge fan of Cornwell but you're right, her books just aren't the same now.

I'm cooking and baking to keep busy and I'm reading "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand. One of the best books I've read, if not the best! Good luck with your paperwhites! They will be beautiful! Here's hoping we both don't have to do any more shoveling for a while!

I like to hibernate through the minus zero temp days. I've just finished reading, for the third time, Stephen King's The Stand. It's a long book and I read for hours and hours at a time. Also, went out and bought some yarn and knitting needles to start on a sweater for one of my granddaughters - haven't knitted for years but I find it's a comforting thing to do in the evenings in front of the television. But best of all - escaping this freezer we call home and heading to Arizona for a week of sunshine and warmth (I hope) in a couple of weeks.

Well... the STATE may have had snow, but we haven't gotten any, though they say a "Freak" storm is on it's way here by Friday night/Sat. morning and we might get some.

Today, was the first time in months that I was able to do a bit of cleaning (laundry and vacuuming). Being very sick is TERRIBLE! Praise God I'm getting better FINALLY! Linda

Y'all come back now...
