Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Kid fix coming...

Jim's son and family (including two grandsons) will spend Easter week with us. They currently live in North Carolina. My daughter and family (including Emmy Lulu and lil' Liam) will spend the first week of June here. Needless to say, we are both tickled pink. So is the local motel as they'll have a booming business during the kids' stay. Our tiny little abode, all 720 square feet of it, was made for two. Oh, and there is room for a corgi or two.

Speaking of corgis; we've nearly made it through week one without Jake. Addie is adjusting and she and I take a walk around the block each day. I count out five little biskeys to give to her daily. Her food intake is being cut back. She will be going in for a through health check-up next week. Jim says we can't lose another one...at least yet. So, we are actively taking preventive measures.

Jake's grave is encircled with field stones and has a bronze corgi garden statue. We added a solar light which glows during the night. It's lit when I take Addie out for her last potty of the night...and it grabs me by the throat when I see it. It says to me..."I'm here mama...all is well". I say hello each day, and tell him I love and miss him. Our hearts are broken, but we'll survive.

Darn little dogs...they just don't live long enough, do they? But...they give us all they have while here. Bless 'em.

My heart breaks for you Susan and Jim. I know that is tough. Of course you are really going to watch Addie.

I hope that you have a nice time with family this week.

Susan we adopted a two year old mutt - potty trained - and is wonderful. Maybe it would be a win win situation.

Sandie Happy Easter

It's good you still have Addie to comfort you and that she has you to comfort her. The solar light is such a sweet idea. Take care of each other.

Woo hoo! Easter at your place sounds like fun! Does that mean an Easter egg hunt, ham, lots of candy and the works?

I feel so sad for you guys about losing Jake. It's a horrible thing to go through but you know you gave him a good life and he was a happy doggie. Hugs to you. Take care...

Thank you for this update, Sus ... I've been thinking of you all. Jake's gravesite sounds really lovely.
Looking forward to seeing new pix of Emmy and Liam!

I would sooner live with the pain of the loss than to never have them in my life...Take care of Addie.
