Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Love is in the air...

Josh and Jenny are both special people. They were both born with disabilities that have held them back in some ways, but made them exceed in others. Like "peoplehood".
They are wonderful people to know.
They met thirteen years ago at their special camp that they both attend each June. I don't know what happened, but they clicked. For years, they only met that one week of camp. Last year, we made arrangements for them to have a date night every couple of months. They love it. They plan it over the phone, and Jenny talks with her supportive staff folks, and Josh calls mama.
They drive Jen west, about 28 miles, and I drive Josh east, about 28 miles. We meet in a town that's halfway between. They go see a movie, and eat dinner on a Friday night, while the staff person, and I kill time somewhere.
I think by their faces, you see that they had a special Valentine's date tonight.
The rose was a big hit. Major brownie points for Josh. So, far in thirteen years, they've moved right along to hugging. It's the cutest darn thing to see. One day, Josh says he's going for it...by golly, he's going to get brave, and go wild, and kiss that girl right on the cheek!

What a sweet picture, everyone in my house really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the get well wishes over on my blog, I'm *almost* completely well now. After six days of fever it finally cleared up and now I just have a wee cough. I'd been staying away from Mom and Gram since it started, and I finally was well enough to visit with them tonight after a week of (rightful)quarantine. Did Jim get any magic meds from his doc to fix him up?

I loved this story and the joy you have brought to these special people. I worked with special children for 18 years and love them so much. There are not a lot of people that will take the time to learn what special friends they make. God will Bless you for the love you have shown... Linda (OC's Mom)
