Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Git R Done Friday!

Hey, I'm jumping on the bandwagon joining Classy Chassy in her new Friday meme. Check out her site to view all the Git R Done Friday posts to see what people are doing, just for fun.

For some strange reason I headed to Walmart...looking for cans of spray paint. Am I a huffer on the sly? No....just trying to cipher up a project...and one was whirling around in the back of my brain, but hadn't come to surface yet. Colors....so many colors....feeling like Alice in Wonderland, first picking up lavender, nope...then moss green....not quite right...oh look! Cherry red!

Back home, I started looking for things in the yard to spray cherry red. First the old bench that my dad made decades ago. Then a red star stake, then the red star hanging on the front porch. Finally, the big kahuna idea hit...spray the garden gate cherry red so that it would "pop" at our house entry, in the arbor.

Jim helped hang the gate saying that red may be a little too bright, and that we should go with green. "Phooey" said his sassy wife. "I want it to PoP!" And it does.

We went to the Shipshewana flea market yesterday and I found plants that would help the new look. Blue salvia, a pink mum,and my fav...black eyed susan.

Halloo Sassy One! Yer hubby was SO WRONG, the green would NOT have worked. The cherry red is a cheery red and is perfect!

That gate really does look great in that color backed by that white arch like that! Mmm... Just a simple can of spray paint to fix up one or two things a week... That might just work for me.

Hi there - I'm getting ready to leave for Wisc. but just had to peek to see who joined up on GET R DONE - and you did a great job! Love the red - it's fabulous! You have a cute cottage, friend!

I LOVE IT - DID I SAY I LOVE IT . . .

It could only be red (was there even another color it could be in your mind and heart?).

Red is the color of your soul and you defining moment of growth.

It is those little steps that will get you to where you are going. And the thing is this - you are enjoying the jorney getting there!

I think it's awesome - as well as your 'cottage'.

The front yard looks so pretty. And yes, the red does make it POP. How pretty. I saw a home show, on Cityline on CityTV, and they showed a red front door with a red pot full of flowers on the side.

It looks great.
