Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Seasonal Changes...

There's no denying it. August is on the way out. Temperatures are dropping, the flower beds are changing, and ragweed, elderberries, and bittersweet are getting ripe along the roadsides.

The hay has been cut, the sheep sheared again, and the kids are back in school. Fall is well on its way.
Dew is heavier, the evenings cooler, and mums are appearing everywhere.

The local college has opened its doors to the freshman, and it's getting dark earlier. The shift has begun. The equinox is turning. My favorite time of year is coming.

Jim and I were both autumn babies, so maybe that's why we like this time of year so. I'm going to dig out the portable fire pit so we can roast some hot dogs in the back yard!

Bring it on...'tis time for the orange and gold decor! I think that Autumn is the best season to decorate for. Sure, there will be hot days again, and we'll still break out in a sweat. The signs are there however...it's coming!

How do you feel about Fall? Does it make you sad to see Summer fade?
Or do feel a sense of elation and exhilaration seeing the season roll over?

I adore fall! It is by far my favorite season. I am not a fan of the ragweed though!

The only thing I love about Summer is the vacation! And school's out!!! I can't wait for fall for the great weather that it brings!

I love all the seasons, but whereas some people get spring fever, I get autumn fever...a wild, happy, even scared but boisterous feeling...tears and smiles all mixed up...the vine that is associated with autumn kind of sums up the feeling for me, towards the passing of another year: BITTERSWEET!

I bet yer little cottage is just adorable in autumn!

I've never been a real fan of summer because it gets SO HOT around here... Sometimes up in the 120's! This year has been VERY mild, Praise God! I used to like it some, because I got to have the kids home and didn't have to go to work, but now that I'me retired and all the kids (except Robert) are gone, I could do without the heat.

I've always loved the autumn season, but it has become quite hard for I've lost so many loved ones during this season in the past several years that I tend to be very weepy and nostalgic. I still love the weather and the colors, though.

I think I like Spring the best now, though winter isn't to bad... Cold is ALWAYS better than HOT! :)

Fall is my all time favorite time of the year....the colors really inspire me... the smell of apples, and even dry leaves...I have a fire pit with built in benches around it, and when Jim was alive we would make chili, hot dogs and even pop popcorn over it...but now that Jim is gone it is in the natural state....surrounded by ivy and yes weeds...but the weeds are pretty weeds, that make it look natural...LOL... but it was a time when all my neighbors would get together and we would all rake leaves together....now no more... but I still love fall...can't wait to go to the apple orchard... sorry, I always seem to ramble on when it's a subject i like... and then again the BUTT...looks all to familiar....LOL judy

Since I live in the south - summer is the hardest season for me - you stay in a/c as much as possible on those dog days of summer. So I look forward to fall, winter, and spring. I think the fall is prettier up north - I'm originally from Chicago, and spring is awesome looking here. I'm looking forward to fall too. The temps are coming down here too.

And its big butts will be 'back' in style (LOL)!

Have fun cooking hotdogs.

Of course I know you and Jim would be Autumn folks...I too love the changing colors of fall! We especially love Halloween here at my house (3 witches you know) and I so wonder how I will get my Halloween decor up! I have almost as much Halloween as Christmas....although in order to have the house look decorated for fall and not have Halloween still up when baby comes home...I may go with more "all fall" this year...rather than Halloween specific! I love the big butt pic above...and let me tell ya...I'm ready for them to be in style? And if they do come of style...I promise not to cover them up with my poodle skirt? Hey...leads me to ask...do you have a corgi skirt? Oh..and with the cool weather coming to us here in the midwest...can I place my Corgi sock order! HUGS Sista!

Girl I am a fall baby and I love it. You can feel it in the air down here also. The air is so cool and crisp in the morning hours. I feel more alive in fall than any other time of the year...bring it on, I'm ready for it.
Momma always told me that folks who loved fall wasn't afraid of getting old and I do believe she was right, the older I get the more I realize it does bother me at all, except for the little aches and pains of getting older.
You have a blessed day

I love the autumn -- though probably my absolute favorite is spring. But bring on pumpkins and cranberries and crisp apples and autumn leaves and I am delighted. Thinking of redoing the blog in autumn colors. I try not to think of the weather that follows the autumn. I am not a fan of winter!

P.S. How did you get a picture of me?

You are going to love that bread pudding! The key is NOT to substitute any of the ingredients. If it says half and half that is what you should use☺

Am I ready for fall? Heck, we didn't even get summer up here! Supposed to be sunny and warm this week. So far today is GORGEOUS! I'm going to spend as much time as I can outside. There will be time enough for me to be inside...sigh.

Y'all come back now...
