Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Hoosier Hysteria...

Yesterday the temps hit 53. In Indiana, that's like opening the gate to Summer.
Cyclists were out, on motor and pedal. Tops were down on convertibles. Shorts, joggers, and long lines at the ice cream joints were all observed.
Sigh...Indiana is known for Hoosier Hysteria pertaining to basketball. People are nuts for basketball here, like Canadians love their hockey. Give us a temperature above 40...a different kind of crazy occurs. The craving for sunshine, looking up to a blue sky, and the balmy breeze of a mid-50's day...well, we just go nuts! There's no controlling us!

Today the corgi kids and I washed the car, and did our country drive afterward. All of their favorite farm animals were out, grazing, nipping at the short grass nubbin's. The big old draft horse, age 26, wandered over to the fence to get up close and personal with Addie. She hid behind the window, then popped up and barked. He just stood there and chewed, giving her the eye. She chickened out...what a weenie. Jake just gazes longingly at the three white faced sheep. Chin on the window sill, he quietly watches as their fluff shifts. They look so scraggly this time of year, and I'm sure they'll soon be shorn.

The birds are out, the trees are budding. I hope we won't have a nasty surprise one of these days. We're promised temps in the fifties every day this week. Can we handle all this joy?

Curious, isn't it? I'm sad, bemoaning the end of Winter -- tho' our low temps are probably laughable compared to what you experience. I'd have loved seeing the expression on your Jake's face!

Hey Corgidogmama!

I'm so glad that you got to get out and enjoy some Sunny weather along with your fur babies! It sure is a nice thing to see around here to, the Sun! Haven't seen much of the Sun in quite a long time that I almost need sunglasses because it is too bright for my eyes. I even noticed that the stars are starting to appear again the past 2 nights! Haven't see those either in a very long time that I had forgotten that they actually exist!

Hugs,
Angela

You know there is just a feeling when it is spring for real and this is it! I think it's here.

My family is from Indiana and I know all about the crazy basketball fans. It's true.

The sun makes such a difference in our lives.

How is mom, son, MIL, and hubby and new job?

Corgidogmama, please wave your magic wand and send some of that warmer weather this way!!! There are no ice cream joints open here, still have lots of snow on the ground and haven't seen the sun in days. It's around 40 degrees and supposed to rain for the next several days. So work quickly and help! :-)

Being from L'ville, I understand the Hoosier Hysteria perfectly!I love, love basketball and it's great watching the Conference Tournament games.

Good for the Corgi pups getting to see their buddies. Evidently, that draft horse is just too darn old for Addie and he can't put a gleam in her eye. Jake must've thought he was in heaven.

I'll be waiting for the sunshine and warm weather!

You have a wonderful evening, you foxy lady!!!

How sweet to take your little doggies for a ride in the country.
We still have lots of snow here in St Paul around my area. We're pretty sheltered by a high slope and trees so the sun doesn't get to us. It's gonna be awhile before the tulips emerge.

After all of the snow and cold you’ve had, I don’t blame everyone for getting a touch of spring fever! Sounds like a wonderful day, and I’ll bet the “kids” just loved the ride, too! I always feel so sorry for the poor sheep when they get shorn and its still so cold! I don’t know how they don’t all die!

Y'all come back now...
