Can you believe how HIGH these CD interest rates were in 1980?
Holy moley, have we ever gone downhill since then! We're barely getting a half-point these days on our savings.Let's just hope that "Happy Days" will come visit us again before the decade runs out.

LOL! It would be nice. And your post was interesting...
My, I forgot that our money was once worth something...lol...maybe it will be again one day.Sighh
Very interesting post. Hope better economic days are ahead! Take care~
That's neat that you still have that newspaper. I bet my dad has some in "the basement." In the 80s I was in hs, saving $ to go to college. My parents would match my $ every time I saved 500.00. I remember opening a CD w/ $2,000.00 at 18% interest!!!! I think that was in 1982.
Someday..maybe Happy Days life will roll around again.. Happy VTT and have a great day..
Oh. My. Can you imagine....my husband would drive himself crazy at the reminder of this....I don't think I will tell him. Fun to see in print again...even if it is a fond memory. Have a great week!
Great post Momma, after getting my 401 K statement the other day it was very upsetting....there has to be some "HAPPY DAYS" ahead...
Great Vintage thingy post!
Hopefully. when things are this far down - there is only one way to go - UP! (Hopefully).
Love your Smashbox (?) picture box. Love you with your granddaughter - you look so incredibly happy!
A child's love is just free . . . no strings attached.
Wouldn't THAT be nice?!?!
That would be nice but we shall see. Interesting what tidbits I could pick up if I unwrapped some things that are stored with (now) old newspapers.
Those were the good ole' days!!!
wow!
I remain hopeful and optimistic that things will turn around for us. Hopefully sooner then later.
gosh tha'ts amazing, looking at old newspaper ads is fun!
If I showed that to my son a bank financial advisor he would just cry!

Yes, once upon a time money was worth
something. Let's hope the economy
starts an upswing trend! :)

Have ye figured out how to save yer template yet? Let the Olde Dame know...
Geez. I have an eleven year old that believes that giving him $5 a week allowance should be illegal.

Here till Penniwig is done! On second thought...LOL I have seen the ol' dame with a wooden spoon, and that pointy flailin thing....I think I shall take the Corgi Babies and go out for a walk...NO sense in us disturbing the ARTIST...THE MASTER ...THE BLOGGING QUEEN OF KNOWLEGE...I shall let Penniwig work...but can you tell me...Is there something BROWN on the tip of my nose?
JEALOUS ALREADY!
Love the little graphic button...asking do you need to write everything down? Lol....
Yep I have to write everything down...and LOL...the biggest challenge is remembering where I put the list, or remembering DUH to take it to the store with me....

Good morning!
'Just stumbled on your site (via Hootin' Anni's place)... largely on account of your "Corgi" title .. and I'm SO glad to have discovered it! In fact, when your music came up I had to do a mental double-take: Hubby was just playing 'Moonlight in Vermont" on his keyboards not 5 minutes ago!
Gotta go fix breakfast now .. but I'll be back!
Have a wonderfully-blessed day!
