Summing it Up...

Now, that I'm way on the wrong side of sixty, I feel that being true to self is important. "I yam, what I yam." Kindness and smiles are to be given away. Women are strong. Men are more vulnerable than we believe. Husbands may come and go...but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVAH live without a corgi or coffee in my life if I can prevent it. Come piles of dog fur or hot water!

Sorting, scrubbing screens and finding shorts!

Well gals, it's that time of year....time to open up the house, let in the birdsong, and shake off the dust that settled over winter.
What is it about a change of season that makes us want to clean, sort, and make room?
It's a real need...it festers....and it HAS to be done!
Yep...the fire has been lit inside ol' Corgidogmama, and the corgi kids are running from room to room, to escape the dreaded Oreck!

Yesterday, I went shopping....in my basement! Ever do that? I rotate clothes and bag them as our little Hollyhock Cottage on the hill only has two dinky closets. Not much room in 720 square feet! A big bag is going to Goodwill, and a big bag is getting washed. I fit in clothes that haven't been worn in five or six years. The much beloved red pantsuit that I wore to my daughter's wedding shower fits again! Okay...these clothes are a tad out of style, but I've never been trendy, so "oh well." Anyway...my choices are plentiful, and I feel rich! Eighteen pounds gone makes me feel positively skinny! Just so I don't look in a mirror....my self image can remain intact! Denial, is a wonderful thing!

Dust is not our friend. Clutter is cruel. Maybe a husband will be swept out in the mix....nah....only kidding.....or am I? Depends which day it is, and if he's cranky!
Okay, too much information...no dirty laundry aired today, he hee!
Hugs~

I know what you mean about closets--I only have one room that qualifies as a bedroom out of four!! Creative storage, rotate seasonal clothing, and...get rid of it! If only I could persuade the other occupants of the house to do the same!!

There is nothing about spring that makes me want to clean :) I can't stay out of the garden. In fact, I put off the cleaning to be outside. Eventually I'll have to mop the kitchen floor when my feet start sticking to it, LOL!

We love you blog - well, Mum does especially! And we love that you are like our Mum and it is the usefulness of clothes and not necessarily if they are the current style - and tell me again why bermuda shorts went the way of the dinosaurs?

EIGHTEEN POUNDS!!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!! That is wonderful! That much tends to make you feel MUCH healthier and it's easier to get around to do more, too! I'm starting to get that itch to start cleaning too, but so far, I haven't given in and scratched it yet... At least not too much.

I did get out and give the Corgis a good run yesterday as they've been getting a bit high spirited even with the huge yards we have for them, and we REALLY need to get the boy pups "tutored" because we really need an attitude adjustment with all the testosterone flowing around here!

I make most of my blouses myself and my newest is probably about 4-5 years old, so yeah, I'm NOT fashion bound either! At least YOU are getting things done! Maybe it will shame me into doing more... maybe... Linda

The spring cleaning fever just jumps out at you doesn't it. I have to switch out seasonal clothing cause my small dinky closet doesn't hold much.
I'm so proud that you have lost 18 lbs, that is alot and I'm sure you are looking great, I recommend getting rid of the larger sizes, that way you know you can't gain that much back. That's what I did...lol..I'm gonna be mighty pissed at myself if I have to replace them one day.
If you find somewhere that takes second hand hubbies let me know and I might have to sweep mine out with the dust...lol..
Hope you have a great week

Looks like you've done some Spring cleaning with your bloggie too! I love it!

Congratulations on loosing 18 pounds! I really need to do that myself. Only more....

I don't know why we always want to clean the house at the change of the seasons but I do the same thing. Too bad I don't have the time to do it! But when I do after I get one room clean my kids go in that room and mess it up again! You can't ever tell that I have cleaned!

Hope you have a Wonderful Weekend!

I've been dragging out the summer clothes and packing away the winter stuff too. Sadly, I'm the same size so everything still fits.
I have a few things that have been saved in the back of the closet for years just in case I lose weight. Eighteen pounds would be so perfect. sigh...
